Reading the 10 Reasons to Love series
It means everything to me that primary schools use my books and that they spark science and creative writing projects. I am a proud Patron of Reading for my lovely local school, Longtown Community Primary which I visit regularly to read, launch competitions and run workshops. School workshops
I offer virtual visits and in-school author days. From timelines on evolution to ‘turtle egg’ ping pong balls and Big Bangs in classrooms, children get involved and explore the issues inspiring my books. With curriculum-led resources and Pearson’s Bug Club Shared Reading books I have authored, I support follow-up competitions, creative writing and activities.

Festivals and author events
I write to share my books and am happy to chat about festivals, literary events, partnerships and projects. I have presented at festivals including Oxford, Cheltenham, Bradford, Greenwich, Wychwood and Hay Festival; and run masterclasses in nonfiction writing for Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCWBI) and Moscow International Book Fair.
